Daylight Harvesting

Image
What is Daylight Harvesting? Any system or strategy that relies on daylight to offset electrical lighting needs is known as daylight harvesting or day lighting. Its main purposes are to  conserve energy  and to provide people with healthy, natural light even when they’re indoors. Daylight harvesting methods include everything from building orientation to advanced lighting control systems.                                                                  Daylight Harvesting  Daylight Harvesting:  Norikool – ADS is an advanced daylight solar system that could replace the translucent lstrip/Rooights in Industries. Compared to the translucent sheets, these tubular day lighting systems are easy to maintain, with reduced heat generation and better light diffusion and transmission. Features:-...

Waste Heat Recovery

Image
Waste heat recovery means recovering heat discharged as a by product of one process to provide heat needed by a second process. It is the process of recovering heat from hot streams with potential high energy content such as hot flue gases from a diesel generator or steam from cooling towers or even waste water from different cooling processes such as in steel cooling. Waste heat is heat, which is generated in a process by way of fuel combustion or chemical reaction, and then dumped into the environment even though it could still be reused for some useful and economic purpose. Waste heat is the energy that is not put into use and is lost into the environment. Recovering waste heat can be conducted through various heat recovery technologies. Why is Waste Heat Recovery Important? The process of recycling expelled heat and energy that would otherwise be wasted can have a surprisingly powerful impact, both on individual businesses and on industries as a whole. In...

Energy Saving in Lighting

Image
Energy saving in light ing involves in replacement (or re-lamping) of traditional lamps (such as incandescent lamps) with that of energy efficient such as fluorescent lamps, CFL lamps and LED lamps. It also incorporates proper lighting controls such as timer controls, PIR and ultrasonic sensors based controls, etc. Lighting is the basic requirement of any facility and it impacts the day-to-day activities of the people. This account a considerable amount of total energy consumption in domestic, commercial and industrial installations. Electric lighting is a major energy consumer. Enormous energy savings are possible using energy efficient equipment, effective controls, and careful design. Using less electric lighting reduces heat gain, thus saving air-conditioning energy and improving thermal comfort. Electric lighting design also strongly affects visual performance and visual comfort by aiming to maintain adequate and appropriate illumination while controlling reflect...

ESCO Energy Service Company

ESCO is the organization which takes guarantee of an energy saving solution & undertakes the financial risks involved in the solutions by assuring the performance. Govt. of India wants to promote ESCO to accelerate the mission of improving energy efficiency of Indian Industries. ESCO is a company having technical knowhow of certain applications of energy saving. It need not be manufacturer of the solutions / products. It may source the solution from a manufacturer & installs the solutions with a service back up for the contractual period. There are two ways with which the ESCO model works... Performance sharing : In performance sharing model, the ESCO invests the money (either own or raised from financial institution). Supplies the equipment to the end customer. During the contractual period, proves & shares the saving with the end customer in mutually decided percentage (e.g. 70:30, 60:40 etc). After the contractual period the ownership of the equipme...

Energy saving in HVAC

Image
Most of the Pharma plants, Commercial establishments like offices, malls, and hospitals spend millions of Rs. on  HVAC  electricity bills. We have come across an attractive, easy to use solution to save energy in Chilling or refrigeration systems. This is a liquid additive which is added to the refrigerant & one can expect 5-20% of reduction in the energy consumption in addition to multiple other advantages. By adding only 5-10% by volume mixture of the additive with the compressor’s refrigeration oil, operating and maintenance cost are reduced. Depending on the condition of the system, energy cost drop between 6% and 20% due to reduced compressor friction and improved unit capacity. How does it work ? This additive technology contains two antiwears, anti oxidation systems. The primary system stays in the solution and is triggered by temperature on an as needed basis only. The secondary system is metal seeking and latches onto all internal meta...

Energy Saver

Energy Saver means decreasing the amount of energy used while achieving a similar outcome of end use. Using less energy has lots of benefits you can save money and help the environment. Generating energy requires precious natural resources, for instance coal, oil or gas. ·          Money Savings – You can reduce the cost of your heating, electricity and fuel bills. ·          Lessened Impact on the Land and Healthier Environment – Lower energy usage results in decreased pollution. Option 1: Renewable Energy Sources Tubular solar heating systems can be used if the outlet temperature requirement is upto 60 deg.C. If Outlet temperature is more, parabolic solar thermal solutions are worth considering. Solar thermal solutions can produce up to 400 deg.C. if one uses thermic fluid. Nowadays, solutions are available which will automatically source shortfall of heat energy from existing heating e...

Energy Audit

Image
Energy Audit Services are provided by Teknocrat's group's training arm, Teknocrat's Academy of Automation & Control Technology (popularly known as TAACT). With a collective industrial experience of more than 60 years, TAACT's energy audit team comprises of 3 BEE certified energy auditors. An energy audit is a detailed  inventory   of the  energy performances  of your home carried out by an auditor recognised by Bruxelles Environnement/ Leefmilieu Brussel, the government agency for the environment and energy. Officially, this procedure is known as the  Energy Advice Procedure. Energy Audit attempts to balance the total energy inputs with its use and serves to identify all the energy streams in the systems and quantifies energy usage’s according to its discrete function. Energy Audit helps in energy cost optimization, pollution control, safety aspects and suggests the methods to improve the operating & maintenance practices of the system...
